Description
The word sage comes from the Latin salvare, which means “to save or cure”. Known since the days of Antiquity, this sacred plant was used to make many remedies and is still used in modern natural medicine. Sage is an aromatic plant that is used to season dishes and herbals teas. Suggested Use
Posology: Topical (Adults): Mix 1 to 2 drops of essential oil in 1/2 tsp. (2.5 ml) of vegetable oil; apply to the affected area, 3 times per day. Inhalation (Respiratory syst.): Add 4 to 12 drops to a bowl of steaming hot water or a diffuser. Inhale slowly and deeply for 5-10 minutes. Usage: Sage - Common essential oil is used in aromatherapy to help relieve minor skin irritations and insect bites and to relieve cold and cough symptoms. WARNING For external and occasional use only. Do not take orally. Do not use essential oils undiluted. Keep out of reach of children. If accidental ingestion occurs, seek urgent medical attention or contact a Poison Control Center. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if this happens, rinse thoroughly with vegetable oil. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have epilepsy, consult a health care practitioner prior to use. May cause allergic reaction (e.g. skin rashes, irritation, dermatitis, irritation of the respiratory tract); in which case, discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner. Do not use on inflamed skin or if suffering from dermatitis. If nausea, dizziness, headache or allergic reactions occur, discontinue use. Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms worsen or persist.
