Whole Fenugreek

Fenugreek seeds are rich in protein and, in some cultures, both the leaves and seeds are consumed as a food. As a seasoning, the seeds are used whole or ground in a variety of ethnic cuisines. Sotolon is the chemical responsible for fenugreek's distinctive sweet smell.

Safety Info: There are reports that it causes birth defects in humans, and that it can pass through the placenta; it also appears to negatively affect male and female fertility. There is a risk of hypoglycemia particularly in people with diabetes; it may also interfere with the activity of anti-diabetic drugs.
